"The Effects of External Forces of Geological Processes"

As we go on to our discussion there our new topics that we encounter and another blog for the Midterm exam. And this is the topic that I choose to make “The Effects of External Forces of Geological Processes”.

Geological processes is a word scientific term that is use to describe internal and external forces that shape the physical make-up of a planet. There are theories that say geological processes is called “uniformitariansim” or “gradualism” that basically state geologic change and take place slowly over time.

There are four Geological processes, in this are:
Earthquakes
Erosion
Meteor impact and
Resource
All of this is significantly alter the landscape and even chemical make-up of Earth. Geological processes also closely studied by the geologists and earth scientists as understanding of causes and effects of these.

  ROCKS

By geological findings, scientist can discover more information about the history of geological processes; it is long before the times of human exist. Base on their analyzing about rock and strata layers that information of them is gained regarding extinction, previous continental position and soon and so forth. A geological process lead early and modern understanding of dinosaurs, Ice Ages, and prehistoric world, so scientist hope and tells us that through careful study will also allow humans to develop advanced warning for geological events that would cause as troubles.

We know that there are two types of geological processes, internal and external forces, and I choice eternal forces.
External Process gets their energy from the sun. Sedimentary rocks are one of the products of external processes.

The external processes are:
The WeatheringJ is the breaking down of soils, rocks and minerals as well as artificial materials through the contact of earth’s atmosphere, biota and waters. Weathering occurs “with no movement” and shouldn’t be confused with erosion. There are two important about weathering processes exist-Mechanical (Physical, Decomposition) and Chemical Weathering.

Decomposition of dolomite.

Disintegrition of sandstone.

  • Mechanical Weathering or Decomposition involves or cause break down of rocks and soils through direct contact with atmospheric conditions. Examples: such as heat, water, ice and pressure.

  • The next one is Chemical Weathering of material on or near the earth’s surface involves the direct effect of atmospheric chemicals or biologically produced chemicals that also known as “Biological weathering” in the breakdown of rocks , soils and minerals, as with other geological processes the distinction between weathering and related processes is diffuse. The main weathering agents are gravity and water:

Next one is the Erosion is the process by which material is removed from a region of the earth surface, it occurs by the weathering and transport of solids like sediment, soil, rock and other particles in the natural environment. Although erosion is a natural process of human land uses it also have an effect on erosion especially industrial agriculture, deforestation, and urban sprawl.
Erosion is breaking down, loosening and movement of material usually occurs due to transport by water, wind and ice and all of this is the main agents of erosion. Erosion is also often occurs after rock has been disintegrated or altered.

And the last one which is also a part of external geological processes is Biological activity or pharmacological activity it describe the beneficial or adverse effect of a drug on living matter. This drug is a complex of chemical mixture, this activity is exerted by the substance’s active ingredient or we can say pharmacophore but these can be modified by the other constituents.Biological activity is an aids weathering, erosion and deposition.

Therefore I conclude that base on my research and my own understanding about external geological processes it has cause and effect that can make erosion, change of weathering and soon and so forth, that will affect our environmental. That’s why scientist hopes that we should know about these, for us to know and a warning for us to be more responsible to our environments. If we will follow that our environment will be safe and beautiful.
